1. What is a pin type anchor bolt and what is it used for?
It's a fastener that grips concrete from the inside. You drill a hole, push the bolt in, and hit it with a hammer. It expands inside the hole and locks in place — ready to hold a machine base, base plate, panel, or bracket. No glue, no waiting.
2. Which size pin type anchor bolt do I need for my job?
For light work like cable trays and conduit brackets, 6mm or 8mm is enough. For electrical panels and small equipment, use 10mm. For machine bases and structural base plates, go with 12mm or 14mm. For dry indoor locations, normal zinc-coated mild steel is fine. For outdoor or rain-exposed areas, go with hot-dip galvanised. For coastal regions like Mumbai or Ratnagiri, use stainless steel SS304. For chemical plants or pharma facilities, SS316 is the right choice. Getting this wrong is costly — replacing a corroded anchor after installation is far harder than choosing the right material upfront.
